Cowboy boots, wide-brimmed hats, and a whole lot of energy— Lasso Montréal 2025 brought country fans together at Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 15–16 for a weekend of unforgettable music and memories.

Friday lit up with performances from Bailey Zimmerman , Sheryl Crow , and Charles Wesley Godwin , along with Canadian artists like Savannah Jade and Sully Burrows who proved they’re stars on the rise.

Caribbean Carnival meets backyard bash —and it was everything you’d hope for and more.

The moment guests stepped in, the delicious aroma of Caribbean cuisine hit the air. The menu? A flavor-packed lineup featuring jerk chicken , BBQ chicken , rice and peas , beef patties , a zesty mango and pineapple salad , and a rainbow of fresh fruits . These 10 things can easily be forgotten but they are crucial to your wedding running as smoothly as possible.

When you think of a wedding, what do you see?

You think of the flowers, the dress, the food, the photographer, and the tux.

But what about the things that you wouldn’t normally think about? The things that are absolutely crucial to having a wedding, but sometimes wouldn’t think of it until the last minute, a wedding planner or vendor reminded you, or you’ve taken a look at this list.

Here are 10 things that most people forget to do for their wedding:

Ensure that you or your venue has a liquor licence. Sometimes you need to get it yourself and sometimes it’s already taken care of for you. Either way, its in your best interest to find this out as soon as possible so there’s no delay. The show WILL NOT go on without this little piece of paper. Whether you’re getting married in a public park and serving champagne or having it in a little cafe that doesn’t sell alcohol, ensure that you’ve checked this off your list by inquiring.
Marriage documents. Sometimes an officiant will take care of this for you but most will ask you to go to your nearest government office to pick them up and fill them out. This is something that you need to have done at some point, otherwise it’s not official!
Parking. These are one of the things, unless your venue coordinator has brought it up, it may be something that hasn’t really crossed your mind. If you’re having more than immediate family at your wedding, then you should consider where they’re all going to park for both the ceremony and the reception (if they’re in different places). Do they need to pay for parking? Do they need to walk far? Letting your guests know of these things will be in yours and their best interest.
Hotel rooms. Is your reception / ceremony a little far of a drive Is it off in the country or away from most things? Either way, blocking off a section of rooms in a hotel or motel is a great way to show your guests that you care. It’s also another way to push the “no-drinking-and-driving” rule.
Wedding favours. Do people still do this? Yes, they do! People are getting smarter and more creative with this one as they’re finding that most people will throw their gift / favour away within the first few weeks of taking it home. Get creative and personal with this one! What is something that you would love to take back with you from a wedding that you would cherish forever? What about a photograph with you and your guest with a blurb written on the back of the image with something you are grateful for about them? Think outside the box!
Fun things for your guests to do if / when they don’t feel like dancing during the reception. Think, a table game / puzzle or a photobooth that’s easy to use. Sometimes going the extra mile can make all the difference and have your guests talking about your wedding for years to come.
Lights. Let’s face it. Not all lighting is beautiful, and not all venues are gorgeously lit. Unfortunately, terrible lighting can make for terrible photos. Either consider this when choosing a venue or create your own ambiance with warm, low lighting. Your guests (and your photographer) will thank you.
Make a schedule. I can’t thank the person that recommended this to me for my wedding. It was so helpful for not only myself but for everyone else involved in making my day run smoothly. Sending a clearly laid out plan for each hour to all the vendors, family, and wedding party, will make your day that much more perfect.
Assign someone to help you with your photos. Bring in someone that knows your friends and family. Someone that is reliable and wants to help you will be your best option when choosing a person for this task. You want this person to be able to easily wrangle together the people needed to make your photos special and the photo taking more efficient. You also want to create a list of friends and family combinations for them and for the photographer so that everyone is on the same page.
Check for food allergies or dietary restrictions. Being a vegan, I know how difficult it is to eat at weddings where they haven’t given options. In a best case scenario, I can usually eat the salad and maybe a dinner roll. Ask the caterer prior to setting up dinner options along with what your guests preferences are or what they can’t eat. You don’t want to leave your guests with empty tummies’ by the time the dancing rolls around.

Camera. Do you know what kind of camera they are using or just a webcam? We use a DSLR Camera along with strobe lighting to produce the best quality print like no others.
Printer & Paper. What is the quality of paper and ink do they use? How fast does the photos come out? Do they print 2x6, 4x6, 5x7, or even 6x8 photos? We use a dye sub printer that prints in 7 seconds that prints out images that are sure to withstand the test of time.
What kind of props do you get? Do they have themed props? We provide the best quality when it comes to props. They're locally handmade!
Availability. Is there more than one booth available for rental? Normally you can tell a great photo booth company by the amount of booths that they have to rent out. Currently, we have 6 that we have rent out for that many events at a time.
What Happens After The Event? What happens to all of those great pictures and videos after your event is over? This information is important to know as you may want a copy of everything afterwards and you need to know if you get access to them!
Cost. Cheaper does not always mean better. We’ve all been through it - We’ve bought that cheap deal and were excited about it until we found that the quality is subpar. Sometimes more expensive means investing in the best. You get what you pay for, afterall!
Packages. What’s included and what’s extra? At LOL, we can customize a package to suit your needs, meaning that you can get exactly what you need for your event.

5 Questions to Ask Before You Book a Photo Booth

If we were you we'd want to know...

1. What is the quality of the photo booth?

We know that your event is very important and the last thing you'd want is a silly looking camera on a tripod in a corner at your wedding. We've seen a lot of different kinds of "booths" in our day, ranging from all different shapes and sizes. We understand that businesses have to start somewhere but as that saying goes, 'You get what you pay for'.

We did a lot of research before deciding on the photo booths we purchased. Our booths are elegant, classy and professionally constructed. The booth has a beautiful touch screen interface, where you can see yourself and the photos being taken.

2. What are the quality of the photos?

It may not seem like much, just a simple set-up and BAM instant photo booth! But there's a lot that goes into capturing a high-quality image from a photo booth. Ask the company you're planning on hiring to show you sample images of what is to be expected from the booth you'll be renting. Our photo booth has professional photo shoot style lighting! This lighting ensures that the photos turn out bright and clean looking. Make sure you look to see if the people in the photos are washed out into the backdrop. We've seen a lot of companies that use a black or white back drop, which doesn't work out when the bride is wearing white and the groom wearing black. We spend tons of money on beautiful high quality backdrops. Lastly, find out what kind of printer they use? We only use the best dye sublimation printer that prints beautiful black & white and color photos in about 7 seconds.

3. Do you have liability insurance?

Don't worry, nothing is going to happen! The reality is most venues require that outside services have liability insurance in place. This question will also separate the unprepared make-shift photo booth companies from the serious ones. Those who run a photo booth business on the side will not be willing to pay the costs of having insurance. This is our only business - we live and breathe photo booths and are fully insured.

4. Do you have references?

The best indicator of the future is the past. Employers, landlords, and others ask for references, so why shouldn’t you? This is your event and everything needs to run perfectly. Feel free to ask us for references or testimonials - we have plenty!

5. What are your fees?

We receive a lot of inquires every day and sometimes customers let us know that they've found a lower price on a Groupon. Later they find out that the initial quote they received didn't include extra fees. Some of these companies are charging fees for mileage, delivery, setup/take down, props, USB drives, extra prints, etc. Our rates are as flat as a Midwest cornfield, they are all inclusive, we will never charge you an extra fee for the booth rental. Our packages include, unlimited photos & prints, use of all of our props, custom photo strip template, and a friendly attendant.

This is us...

Family owned and operated, since 2013 - Our primary mindset has always been, “How can we make this better and more fun?” Having three young boys, we’re always looking for creative and enjoyable ways to utilize our time. We started out in our corporate jobs

working 9-5 (and loving it!) but still wanting to try something new.

Never having stepped into a photo booth prior, Toan Phung, Owner of LOL Photo Booth, took quite the interest in owning his own Photo Booth back in 2012. He loved the idea of becoming a photographer once upon a time, but felt like he needed to add a more fun element to the career choice. And BAM! LOL Photo Booth was born.

We started out with a few weddings and turns out, it was a HIT with everyone! After one year of operating the photo booth, we had two running booths and far more demand. This was when everything changed…

Today, we have a team consisting of: Brand Ambassadors, Photographers, Graphic Designers, Sales, Booth Attendants, and more. We also use 5 different types of booth machines and use them according to the type of event we’re covering. Now, we work with Wedding and Event Planners, doing mostly corporate events and some smaller events on the side.

We love working with others and making sure everyone around us are happy. If our people aren’t smiling, we aren’t doing our job. Besides, who can be unhappy when they’re holding up a moustache on a stick?

Our first blog post and we’re so excited to share our thoughts, ideas and lists (because I LOVE making lists) about all things EVENTS!

Hi, I’m Chrystal. I’m Sales and Operations Manager here at LOL Photo Booth. I enjoy being a part of the community, helping and taking part in the things that help us all grow and move forward.

Lists are a big part of how I personally, grow. It’s not that my memory is bad, but I have so many great ideas, that everything gets lost in the thick of it. Thank goodness for PINTEREST! This is another way I stay grounded and sane. Ideas and images pinned for later is fantastic organizational tool, especially if you’re looking at keeping your work space clean!
